My name is Christian Beeston, and I am a 21 year old student currently studying Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. Creativity has always been my highest interest in my life. My early interest in cartoons saw me win the Young Cartoonist of the Year competition in 2015, but my practise has evolved over the years, with a particular interest in the street art and graffiti style. I am intrigued by how the style transcends conventional boundaries in the contemporary art world. Through my work, I seek to challenge preconceptions and redefine the boundaries of what is considered art. Graffiti and street art, often dismissed as vandalism, hold cultural significance in the art world, and artists such as Christopher Wool and Shepard Fairey have utilised the art form in their own work. I explore themes of fragmentation, layering, and repetition, and have an infatuation with the mechanical and human processes used to create the marks on my artwork.
